I usually use it to know/set/reset the startup programs in windows. But it has more features:

"System Configuration Utility (Msconfig.exe) automates the routine troubleshooting steps that Microsoft Product Support Services technicians use when diagnosing Windows configuration issues. You can use this tool to modify the system configuration through a process of elimination with check boxes, reducing the risk of typing errors.

I have never seen you treat someone without respect, brother :)
All you do is ignore their presence, (what seems right ;)

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I thought also about using Thunderbird or some other program. The problem is that if I then have some problem, I can't go to the Help Desk ask for help. Help Desk must carefully define what are the supported tools, otherwise they would be doomed :)

Replacing it for Outlook 2003 could also be an option, although the company will eventually have to upgrade to outlook 2007, so probably the best is to make things work there. Unless Help desk decides to support Thunderbird or other email client :)

Why don't you try Thunderbird? It has some support for exchange, and it is way better than WebMail access. Also, I would love some comments on how that works before I try it myself! :)
Here's a starting point: http://www.mcgill.ca/files/ics/Exchange_Mozilla.pdf

But of course the simplest thing to do would be to remove Outlook 2007 and install Outlook 2003. Or isn't that an option?

Big Tony,

It was indeed a fantastic effort. Being part of the OutSystems community (<a href="http://www.outsystems.net" rel="nofollow">http://www.outsystems.net</a>) team and also behind the IT Asset Manager initiative made me feel proud of the team and the technology, in all of its aspects.

And all of you don't forget to check the Express Edition Beta edition at <a href="http://express.outsystems.com" rel="nofollow">http://express.outsystems.com</a> .

Great work and article!
Gonçalo

Well, someone got me a free FON router (thanks, Hugo :), so it was easy to try it. I may try to connect the router to the other, but didn't try it yet.

The idea would be to have the first acting as firewall, DOS detection, etc. And I could disable the wireless feature. And also, Iz could connect a computer through the LAN cable to this router. The FON router is very basic. Just a place to connect the cable from the modem.

The reports say no usage yet. I haven't also yet used other user's FONs.

So you went with the FON solution, hu? That's really interesting. Ok, ok, I gotta ask this first: what have you done with the other wireless router you had bought?

And, do you have any reports on other people using your shared connection? And what about using the FON network while you're on the move? Have you used that possibility?

Hi Paulo

In fact, you mentioned valid points.
For some months now that I'm using a FON (http://www.fon.com/en/) wireless router. It has 2 SSIDs, one private with WPA enabled and other opened. You may also specify the bandwidth to share. Or even get some money, if someone uses it (though, not sure if this is legal with your ISP).

Cheers,
António

ps: welcome to the globalization :)
